Examples of acceptable metal goods are listed below and are accepted at all waste sites. They include, but are not limited to, the following materials:

- BBQ (tank and charcoal removed)
- Metal filing cabinet
- Metal shelving unit
- Metal bed frame and rail
- Water heater
- Range hood
- Metal wheel barrow (tire removed)
- Bicycle frame (tires removed)
- Metal patio table
- Metal swing set
- Wiring
- Bath tubs
Large and small appliances containing ozone depleting refrigerants (CFCs/Freon) must be removed by a certified professional. The following items are accepted at the Glen Tay Waste Site only:
- Refrigerator
- Freezer
- Air conditioner
- Dehumidifier
- Water cooler
- Stove
- Washer
- Dryer
