Each year in late June or early July, all the roadsides in Tay Valley Township are mowed to ensure there are proper sight lines for safe driving. Recently, roadside mowing has also become what is termed a "control measure" to reduce the infestation of the invasive Wild Parsnip.
Since 2021, the Township also conducts a second cut in the fall.
All equipment is washed at the end of each day to prevent any spread.
