Notice of Public Meeting Concerning Proposed Zoning By-Law Housekeeping Amendments

TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of Tay Valley Township will hold a public meeting at 5:00 p.m. on August 18th, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the Township Municipal Building at 217 Harper Road to consider the following:

Proposed Housekeeping Amendment to the Zoning By-Law under the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, Chapter P.13, Section 34. The purpose of this amendment is to make several clarifications to the Definitions, General Provisions and Zoning Schedules of the Zoning By-Law. These changes include updated Floodplain (FP) mapping along the Fall River and Bennett Lake and revisions to Secondary Dwelling Units, Multi-Unit Residential Zone, Dwelling Height, Decks and Agritourism. With the exception of the site-specific floodplain mapping, the proposed housekeeping amendments apply to the entirety of Tay Valley Township.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the above item(s). In the event that you are unable to attend the meeting the meeting will be live streamed and if you wish to submit written comments, please deliver them to the Clerk’s office prior to the date of the meeting so they can be presented at the meeting. Comments will also be accepted after the meeting.

IF A SPECIFIED PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Tay Valley Township to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submission to Tay Valley Township before the by-law is passed, the specified person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

IF A SPECIFIED PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Tay Valley Township before the by-law is passed, the specified person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of Tay Valley Township on the proposed housekeeping Zoning By-Law amendment, you must make a written request to Tay Valley Township.
