Birds in the Garden
A garden without birds is like a half-finished picture. Some people are gardeners who like to watch birds come and enjoy their gardens. They appreciate the help of the birds as they eat pests before the pests eat their plants. Other people are bird watchers who garden specifically to attract birds. The result of both is a garden with birds.
In this presentation we will identify what birds want and need. We will talk about bird feeders and, more importantly, about plants that will specifically attract birds. We will also learn that birds aren’t free loaders. They help us with pest control.
While some birds prefer nesting in bird houses, most others prefer to use more natural homes. We will talk about what benefits various trees and shrubs provide for our feathered friends.
