NOTICE
2026 BUDGET AND FEES

In accordance with Strong Mayor Powers under Section 284.16 of the Municipal Act, 2001, Tay Valley Township Council intends to consider the Draft Budget and any changes in fees at two separate Budget Meetings open to the public.  The public is also welcome to comment and ask questions at the end of each of the Budget Meetings or submit comments directly to the Reeve at reeve@tayvalleytwp.ca until November 14^th, 2025.  Your participation at these meetings is welcome and encouraged. 

Copies of the Draft Budget will be available on the Township website or by contacting the Treasurer at treasurer@tayvalleytwp.ca as of October 23^rd, 2025.

BUDGET MEETING SCHEDULE 

The Treasurer will present the Draft Operating and Capital Budgets to Council and the public. 

Operating Budget Meeting

(includes review of Fees and Charges)

Tuesday, October 28^th, 2025 – 5:30 p.m.

Capital Budget Meeting

Thursday, November 6^th, 2025 – 5:30 p.m.

Following the two Budget Meetings, Council recommendations and public comments will then be taken into consideration by the Head of Council who will issue the Reeve’s Proposed Budget on November 20^th, 2025.

Reeve’s Proposed Budget

Thursday, November 20^th, 2025

A “Special” Council Meeting will be held where the Treasurer will present the Reeve’s Proposed Budget.  Council will then have an opportunity to pass a resolution to amend the Reeve’s Proposed Budget, of which the Reeve can veto, and Council can override the veto.

Once the override process is complete, the budget will be deemed adopted on Tuesday, December 9^th, 2025.
