Resurfacing work beginning on the Tay Havelock Trail
Resurfacing work will be underway on the Tay Havelock Trail beginning Monday August 25th from the Old Brooke Road #2 crossing towards the trailhead west of Glen Tay.
Lanark County has retained Gemmill Sand and Gravel to conduct resurfacing work on the Tay Havelock Trail, including grading and placement of a new stone dust surface. “This maintenance is an important step in maintaining the safety, durability and accessibility of the trail” explained Public Works Manager Sam Poole.
As pre-grading work is conducted, trail users are asked to ride with caution and pay attention to workers and equipment present on the trail.
Popular with ATV users, this multi-use 25-km stretch within Lanark County along an abandoned rail bed can be accessed south of Hwy. 7 at Glen Tay. There are multiple access points as it links with many other legs of the Trans Canada Trail for a journey through the gorgeous countryside.
