What are Levels of Service:

Levels of service (LOS) is a term in asset management referring to the quality of a given service.  Defining and measuring levels of service is a key activity in developing infrastructure asset management plans.  Any change to levels of service will have an impact on cost, performance and risk.

For example, improving the rideability of roads is a level of service increase but comes with an added cost to the taxpayer. Decreasing the level of service will save money but could increase risk and reduce the life of the road.

This survey is being conducted in accordance with Ontario Regulation 588/17 , which mandates municipalities to prepare asset management plans and set levels of service for municipal services.
