Do you have items that need to be fixed, clothing to be mended? Come and work in community with other menders.
We welcome menders of all ages, genders and skill levels (including none). We'll share knowledge and materials. If you wish to come and are keen to learn, but don't have a thing to mend, come along anyway. We have extra projects specifically for those looking to acquire some basic skills.
Some of the more experienced sewists, darners and patchers will be working on projects dropped off by community members, who will pay (by donation to the school) for their mended items.
If you have experience fixing clothes (this could be sewing buttons, darning, patching, replacing zippers, hemming pants, minor alterations, and passing on these skills to others) and wish to become a 'helping' member, please get in touch.
Let's keep our clothes on us, and out of the landfills!
To take part in this initiative, please send an email to be added to the community mending email list.
