Reduced Load Restrictions 2025

Tay Valley Township's Public Works Department would like to advise all residents that reduced load restriction of five (5) tonnes per axle, will be in force on all Township roads effective Monday, March 10th, 2025.
It is an offence, under section 122 of 'The Highway Traffic Act', to transport loads in excess of five (5) tonnes per axle upon roads where reduced loads are in effect.

NOTICE – SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT DECLARATION – UPDATE #2
As of February 18th, 2025 at 12:00pm, the declaration of a Significant Weather Event has been rescinded. Public Works staff will continue to widen roads and push snowbanks back in the coming days.
Thank you to the residents for their cooperation and patience during the last few days and thank you to our plow operators for their efforts.

NOTICE – SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT DECLARATION – UPDATE #1
As of this morning, the plows have cleared all the Township’s roads, however another major winter storm is forecasted this long weekend. The next system is scheduled to begin Saturday afternoon and continue into Sunday night with a forecasted 20-30+ cm of snow.
The significant Weather Event that was declared on February 12, 2025, will remain in effect until further notice.
