Township Services - Closures, Cancellations and Modifications

The Township's top priority during this crisis continues to be the health and safety of the public and our staff.  To help mitigate the onset of community spread, the Township has closed, cancelled or modified a number of programs and services.

Closures

The following Township owned facilities are closed to the public until further notice:

  • Community Halls (Burgess Hall and Maberly Hall)
  • ReUse Centre at the Glen Tay Waste Site
  • Municipal Office

In an abundance of caution, due to increased cases of COVID-19 in the community, and the introduction of the new variant, in order to reduce the further spread of COVID-19, the Tay Valley Township Municipal Office at 217 Harper Road will be closed to the public, effective immediately.

Municipal services can still be accessed by phone and email.  For any payments owing to the Township, options include on-line banking, mailing a cheque or dropping payment in the mailbox located at the outside of the Municipal Office at 217 Harper Road.

As the situation continues to evolve, we will continue to keep you updated through the Township’s website and social media platforms. As always, residents and staff are encouraged to be proactive and follow Health Unit directives on protecting themselves and their family during this situation.

Cancellations

  • Township run recreation programs (choir, hockey, karate, soccer)

Modifications

  • The Municipal Office is operating Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m for telephone and email customer service only. Members of the public are being asked for your own health & safety, and that of our staff, to conduct as much business as possible by email and/or telephone, and to make payments online or by using the dropbox at the municipal office.
  • Council Meetings will be virtual.
  • All waste sites remain open, with modifications:
    • As waste site amenities are not sanitized, the public is asked to ensure they are adhering to strict social distancing guidelines (6 feet apart) and are taking the following precautions while visiting the waste sites:
      • stay home if you are feeling unwell,
      • wash your hands frequently,
      • keep a safe distance of 6 feet or 2 metres from those around you,
      • avoid touching your face,
      • no hugging or handshakes.
  • For any payments owing to the Township, options include online or telephone banking, mailing a cheque to the Municipal Office or dropping a payment off in the drop box at the Municipal Office.  We encourage residents to use these means of payment if at all possible.
  • The public is reminded to social distance when using boat launches, parks, playgrounds, swimming areas, outdoor rinks, etc. and only boat or fish by yourself or with people you live with.

Please note that these mitigation measurers may change at any time. Our thanks for your understanding and cooperation as we work to help protect the health and safety of the public and our staff.
