Significant Rain in April Causing Elevated Water Levels
A Flood Outlook Statement is being issued for the Upper Rideau Valley Watershed.
Since early April, two large weather systems have brought between 60 to 90 mm of precipitation across the Rideau Valley Watershed. The highest precipitation amounts (90 mm) fell across the Upper Rideau Valley Watershed near Bob’s and Christie Lakes and the Tay River. The weather forecast indicates another 10 to 15 mm of precipitation for the next week.

Rideau Canal - Water Level Management Update – April 12, 2024

Parks Canada's water management team continues to actively monitor water levels, flows, and weather forecasts across the Rideau Canal National Historic Site of Canada. These factors are used to determine dam operations on a daily basis for the Rideau Canal National Historic Site of Canada.

Fire Ban Update: April 11th, 2024
The Fire Ban has been lifted for Drummond/North Elmsley Township and Tay Valley Township.
There are still some areas in our Townships that are dry. Do not burn in areas with long dead grass, do not burn on windy days and never leave a fire unattended. Always have a water source available to extinguish the fire.
A burn permit is required for all open air fires.
